Simply put, Brine started as a dream. Chris and Julie Cohen wanted to bring a dining experience to Jacksonville that captured their combined memories of exquisite seafood meals enjoyed during past travels as well as in their hometowns. Chris is a Bostonian, and his love for New England seafood is evident in the menu design. Julie is a native of Jacksonville, but has lived in New York City, Seattle, and South Florida, and enjoys the various flavor profiles of oysters from different parts of the country.

With an intimate, boutique style dining experience in mind, they began looking for the perfect space to house their restaurant. Finding just the right fit was important, so they decided to start off as a pop-up restaurant concept, allowing them to take their time while they searched.

Their first brick-and-mortar space plays perfectly into the unique culture they’ve developed. Dining at Brine is an immersion into art, cuisine and viniculture. Get ready for an attentive, informative experience in an approachable yet refined atmosphere!
